Each entry records instrument, chair, school and honours as declared by the musician. Four founders — Sophia, Clive, Andrew, Joel — opened the catalogue in fall 2023. Three more joined for 2026.

Sophia Wang

ViolinViolin ISophomore

Sophia began piano and violin at age five and studies with Emil Chudnovsky. She is a member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras and of the 2025 and 2026 All-Virginia Orchestra. She founded Frost Quartet with fellow orchestra members.

Clive started violin at age nine and studies with Dr. Laura Kobayashi. He plays in the Philharmonic Orchestra at Woodson High School and is an active member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras.

Andrew began piano at five and viola at nine, and studies with Fang Qi. He has held principal chairs across four American Youth Philharmonic ensembles and is Principal Viola of the 2026 All-Virginia Orchestra. His outreach work focuses on elderly and disabled communities.

Mina Liu

Mina began Suzuki violin at age four. She was a finalist in the 2025 Misbin Chamber Music Competition and served as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra at the 2024 Spring String Thing at James Madison University. She has performed at Washington National Cathedral and George Mason University, and is also an advanced percussionist.
